HBX Credential of Readiness for Boise State Students

The HBX Immersion at Boise State prepares you—regardless of your major— for a professional career with skills applicable to all industries. Learn to think analytically and strategically through local instruction led by Dr. Kevin Learned (Exec. Director of CID’s Venture College) who will adapt the material you learn online to fit local and regional industry demands through real-world examples. The HBX Immersion at Boise State is designed to complement your degree and give you the foundational skills to get ahead while preserving your ability to pursue your academic passions.

Cost: 9 Boise State credits, eligible for financial aid like other classes you enroll in.
Note: This course is graded pass/fail and failure to complete the course can have significant effects on your financial aid eligibility.

  • Will this give me a certification from Harvard?
    Yes. Upon successful completion of the course and passage of the proctored exam, you will be awarded the Credential of Readiness from HBX, Harvard Business School’s digital learning initiative. You will also receive nine Boise State credits.
  • Do I need to have a business background?
    No. The College of Innovation and Design’s collaboration with HBX is designed to support both business and non-business majors alike.
  • What is involved in the class-session if all of the content is online?
    The weekly class sessions will provide in-person, direct engagement with the course content to improve your understanding of the course material, as well as provide you with the chance to work alongside other Boise State students.
  • Where is the class-session held and who is the instructor?
    The in-person class sessions will be taught by Boise State’s Kevin Learned and will be held at the Venture College building in downtown Boise (at the southwest corner of Capitol Blvd. and Front Street).
  • Is the course through blackboard?
    No. The course is offered in collaboration with Harvard Business School’s digital learning initiative, HBX.
  • How is this class graded?
    This course is graded as a pass/fail with three levels of achievement offered based on your level of participation in the course. Note: Failure to complete the course can have significant effects on your financial aid eligibility.
