Environmental Attitudes Across the Lifecourse

redfish2 color modified again

Much of the environmental degradation in the world today is the direct result of individual actions, which follow from people’s attitudes towards the environment. Little is known about how environmental attitudes develop and change over the lifespan. Using experimental tools and social network analysis to assess the environmental attitudes of children at different ages, this project examines how environmental attitudes develop over time, and the corresponding changes in the distribution of environmental attitudes in a population. Understanding how children form these beliefs has the potential to improve how we teach them about the environment.
