The 2017 Idaho Entrepreneur Challenge is culminating this Thursday and Friday, with 26 teams from across Idaho converging on Boise State University for a jam packed two days of networking, pitching, judging and awards. The contest was open to all university students in Idaho and we received over 75 applications from 8 different schools. The finals event will feature ventures from the top 26 teams competing for $100,000 in seed funding generously provided by Zions Bank.
Teams will attend a welcome dinner Thursday evening, hosted at the Zions Bank building in downtown Boise. Contestants will need to get some rest, as their Friday will be filled with pitching business ideas to a panel of 25 judges from various parts of the country and representing a variety of industries. The attending judges are founders, CEOs and investors from tech, design, education, consumer products and other fields. The judges are all stand outs in their industry and their feedback to the teams will be of tremendous value as they grow their business.
After giving their pitches three times Friday morning, students will attend entrepreneurial workshops in the afternoon, then set up a demo table for the public Friday evening. Awards will be presented Friday after the demo event at the Alumni and Friends center of Boise State.
Students from Boise State make up 8 of the teams in the finals. If you would like to learn more about their ventures and provide support for these aspiring Bronco business persons, please join us at the Alumni and Friends Center Friday March 31, 2017 beginning at 5:00 p.m. Demo tables will be set up from 5:00-6:30 p.m., team pitches and the awards presentations will begin at 6:30 p.m. and conclude at 8:00 p.m. Appetizers will be provided, we hope to see you there.
